This year's event will require more than 250 volunteers willing to donate their time and energy to make each race an overwhelming success. Volunteers will work as: race marshals, assistant judges, team liaisons, racecourse preparation and tear-down. Each volunteer will receive a T-shirt and fully-catered "THANK-YOU" party on May 19th, 6pm at the Dickson Street Theatre with prizes!

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THE RACE NEEDS YOU RAIN, SNOW, SLEET OR SHINE...THE RACERS WILL BE THERE AND THEY WILL NEED OUR HELP NO MATTER THE CONDITIONS.

Please contact the Volunteer Coordinators, Dean LaGrone - dlagrone@cox.net or Bonnie LaGrone - blagrone@cox.net or call 479-750-2550 with any specific questions.
For any race questions or logistics, please contact Bruce Dunn, Race Director, - bruce@misterguy.com or call 479-521-7766 for more information.

Race Day Check-in Information for Volunteers

Race Marshals
This is our greatest need. Corner Marshals provide safety to both the riders and motor vehicle and pedestrian traffic along the race route. Volunteers will be responsible for controlling intersections throughout each day's events. Specific areas will be assigned, but volunteers will be posted at key crossroads throughout the Friday and Saturday road races, along the finishing stretch in Fayetteville for Friday's road race on Dickson Street and on Sunday's criterium course in the downtown area. Volunteer Coordinators, Dean LaGrone - dlagrone@cox.net or Bonnie LaGrone - blagrone@cox.net or call 479-750-2550 with any specific questions.

Feed Zones
We need volunteers to help on both Friday and Saturday in the feed zones. Feed Zones are areas on the course that the riders pass through and receive hand-ups in the form of water, bananas, energy gels and bars. This is an exciting area and one that the riders really appreciate.
Please contact Volunteer Coordinators, Dean LaGrone - dlagrone@cox.net or Bonnie LaGrone - blagrone@cox.net or call 479-750-2550 with any specific questions.

Host Families
House some or all of the race members of a pro-only race team. Hosts provide sleeping space, use of a bathroom, and refrigerator space. Providing food is not required, but a host family may offer to share meals or give the riders full use of the kitchen.
Contact Stephen Ray Stafford s_ray_s@hotmail.com or 870-654-5022

Registration
We need volunteers to help with various elements of the registration process. Volunteers are needed to help with preparation of participants' entry packages on May 6 & 8. This will require a few hours each evening at a central location. Finally, volunteers are needed to help with the final registration and check-in of participants. Contact Jeremy Pratchard - jpratch@uark.edu

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS NEEDED: please contact point person for details

Motor Marshals
Experienced motorcyclists who have motorcycles (with certain needed characteristics). Moto Marshals will carry photographers, video people, race officials and other key race personnel throughout the race courses. Contact David Sager - david_sager@hotmail.com or 479-409-4887 for more information.

Wheel Trucks
Adult-age drivers with full-size pickups trucks are needed to follow each race group on both the Friday and Saturday road races. Wheel trucks loaded with spare bike wheels follow the main pack of riders and if a rider has a flat, the truck stops and allows the rider to retrieve a spare wheel.
Volunteer Coordinators, Dean LaGrone - dlagrone@cox.net or Bonnie LaGrone - blagrone@cox.net or call 479-750-2550 with any specific questions.
